A pilot of a chartered flight, Rohit Saran (55), has been accused of sexually assaulting a 26-year-old cabin crew member at a five-star hotel in Bengaluru.
The survivor, who was in Bengaluru for work, later approached the Begumpet Police Station and lodged a complaint.
According to available information, the incident occurred on November 18. Saran had flown to Hyderabad with the woman and another pilot after completing a chartered flight between Begumpet and Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. The crew checked into a Bengaluru hotel for an overnight stay before their return flight the next morning.
The complainant alleged that the suspect pulled her into his room and sexually violated her. Upon reaching Hyderabad, she filed a complaint with local authorities.
The Begumpet police registered a ‘Zero FIR’ and subsequently transferred the case to the Halasuru Police Station in Bengaluru for investigation, as it falls under their jurisdiction.
Authorities have confirmed that the case is under active investigation.
