VOORHEES, NJ – A 35-year-old Bucks County man, Phu Nguygen, has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery at the Bank of Princeton in Voorhees, authorities announced Monday, July 7.
The robbery took place on Friday, June 27, at 11:45 a.m. when Nguygen allegedly handed a demand note to a teller at the bank located at 133 Route 73, and revealed a firearm in his waistband, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi.
Nguygen fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, officials said.
On Thursday, July 3, Nguygen was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force (New York/New Jersey – Camden Division) in coordination with the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force – Philadelphia Division.
Nguygen, a Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania resident, is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, pending extradition to New Jersey. He faces charges of robbery and multiple weapons offenses, authorities said.
