Sonitpur police bust illegal sale of high-end DSLR cameras

In a major breakthrough, Sonitpur police have arrested Raktim Ranjan Saikia from Dekargaon, who was involved in the theft and illegal sale of high-end cameras. Saikia, a professional photographer known for covering weddings, social events, and public functions, used his profession as a cover to rent expensive cameras from unsuspecting individuals.

Police sources revealed that Saikia misappropriated seven premium DSLR cameras from renowned brands such as Sony and Nikon, with a total value exceeding Rs 40 lakh. He then sold these cameras illegally for personal gain. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to recover the stolen equipment and identify any other potential victims.
