PHOENIX — Junn Alan Quinto Coleman, 35, was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Monday for a robbery and shooting that took place last year, officials announced.
Coleman previously pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act Robbery, a federal offense involving robbery that affects interstate commerce, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona. He also admitted to discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
In January 2024, Coleman and an accomplice targeted the Phoenix Soles streetwear store near Central and Highland avenues. During the robbery, Coleman threatened people inside the store with a gun, pistol-whipped a man, and shot him in the shoulder. The pair stole cash, merchandise, and jewelry before fleeing.
Investigators identified Coleman by his distinctive facial tattoos, linking him directly to the crime.
“This case exemplifies the collaboration of multiple agencies to reduce violent crime in our community,” said U.S. Attorney Timothy Courchaine. He thanked the Phoenix Police Department, FBI, and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry for their efforts in swiftly apprehending Coleman and ensuring justice.
