CANANDAIGUA — A shoplifting complaint at a West Avenue business led to the arrest of a local man.
Phillip R. Schmidt, 32, faces a charge of petit larceny after police responded around 1 p.m. on Jan. 31 to a reported theft.
Investigators said Schmidt took merchandise into a bathroom, concealed the items on his person, and then left the store.
Officers arrested Schmidt and later released him on an appearance ticket, requiring him to return to court for the charge.
