SAN ANTONIO – Philip Agustine Ramirez, 40, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the October 2024 murder of Andrea Teresse Anzaldua, whose body was found in his Northwest Side apartment, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Ramirez allegedly called 911 at 3 a.m. on October 18, 2024, and told the dispatcher that Anzaldua was having an overdose. However, he did not provide further details, and he hung up before authorities could reach him. The dispatcher was able to trace the call to an apartment complex on Fredericksburg Road, where first responders were directed to Ramirez’s third-floor unit.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Anzaldua’s body in a bathtub, with the water running, and observed a wound on her neck, bruising on her jawline and chest. Anzaldua was pronounced dead at the scene.
A search of the apartment revealed signs of tampering with the crime scene, including blood smeared around multiple rooms and discarded bloody T-shirts and cleaning supplies. A Ring camera from the apartment’s front door showed Anzaldua alive just hours before the 911 call, with no visible injuries.
A March 10 autopsy report confirmed that Anzaldua’s death was caused by blunt force trauma and strangulation, and it was officially ruled a homicide.
Ramirez was arrested on April 1, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody on April 8, charged with murder and two other unrelated charges. His bail was set at $190,000.
This case is under continued investigation, and authorities are working to uncover more details surrounding the tragic death of Andrea Anzaldua.
