Phagwara police arrested Ashu Sachdeva of Rattanpura on Sunday night after recovering 5 grams of heroin and 65 grams of intoxicating powder from his possession.
The accused was nabbed at a checkpoint near Basra Palace on the Phagwara-Banga road while traveling in a car. The police have also impounded his vehicle as part of the investigation.
Authorities are continuing their probe into the drug trade activities linked to the accused.
