El Dorado, KS — Authorities have arrested an El Dorado man on 23 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, the El Dorado Police Department announced Friday, September 12.
The arrest followed an investigation led by the Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, in coordination with El Dorado Police. The investigation was initiated after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a cyber tip regarding suspected child exploitation via electronic devices.
Search warrants were executed, leading to the arrest of Peter Ferley, a registered offender. He was taken into custody and booked into the Butler County Jail.
Ferley faces 23 felony charges related to the sexual exploitation of children. Authorities have not released further details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Law enforcement officials continue to emphasize the importance of reporting suspicious online activity, especially when it involves minors.
