In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Delhi Police arrested a 50-year-old Nigerian national, Peter Okwuchukwu Anaekpo, with 103.8 grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), valued at approximately Rs45 lakh.

The arrest came after a week-long surveillance operation conducted by the police following a tip-off. Using CCTV footage from various locations in Sagarpur, the police team tracked Peter’s movements and laid a trap near his residence in West Sagarpur on the evening of May 5.

Around 7:30 PM, Peter was intercepted while stepping out of his building. A subsequent search of his residence led to the discovery of crystal-like substances hidden inside sofa cushions, later confirmed to be MDMA.

According to investigating officers, Peter Anaekpo entered India via Nepal about seven years ago. He initially settled in Mumbai, where he was involved in the garment trade, before moving to Delhi around 2019-2020, where he gradually became involved in the narcotics trade.

Police believe he was part of a broader drug supply network and are now working to identify other links and suppliers in the chain. Further investigations are ongoing.
