A five-member inter-state gang involved in organized online satta betting was busted by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (East Zone) in coordination with the Chilkalguda police. The team seized Rs1,07,200 in cash along with digital devices and materials valued at Rs4,00,000.
The arrested individuals include Penugonda Sadashivudu (32), Madishetty Yadagiri (40), Yelugu Karthik (23), Faizan Khan (25), and Tallapally Punnam Chander Goud (26). Police stated that the mastermind, Rajender, remains absconding.
Investigations revealed that Rajender had set up the satta operation nearly three years ago in a rented room in Chilkalguda. He recruited his nephew, Penugonda Sadashivudu, and other associates to help manage the illegal betting business.
The gang accepted bets through mobile phones and tablets using WhatsApp, while collecting money via UPI platforms like PhonePe, GPay, and direct bank transfers. The bets originated from various parts of Telangana, while Rajender placed higher-level bets with organizers based in Wani, Maharashtra, profiting illegally.
Acting on credible information, the East Zone Task Force and Chilkalguda police carried out a successful raid, leading to the arrests and seizure of assets.
