In December 2024, South Wales Police raided a Swansea flat, leading to the arrest of three men connected to drug trafficking. Paul Morgan, 41, of New Orchard Street, was already under investigation when police observed 31-year-old Kieran Jones-Mathias leaving his address on an e-scooter. E-scooters are illegal to ride on public roads, pavements, and cycle lanes, which led to Jones-Mathias’s arrest.
After stopping Jones-Mathias outside a hotel on Oystermouth Road, police found two mobile phones in his possession. Both phones were constantly ringing and contained messages implicating him in drug supply activities. Further investigation led to a raid on Morgan’s flat, where 37-year-old Matthew Ace was found with over 85 grams of cocaine and approximately £3,000 in cash.
All three men faced serious drug-related charges. Matthew Ace was sentenced to three years and 41 weeks in prison, while Paul Morgan received three years and nine months behind bars. Kieran Jones-Mathias was sentenced to four years. Detective Sergeant Luke Tucker from South Wales Police commented on the arrests, emphasizing that their illegal activities had led to long prison sentences, underscoring that authorities would continue to target the drug trade.
