Two men from Beltsville, Maryland, have been arrested and charged in connection with a months-long theft spree involving stolen power tools and lawn equipment, authorities announced this week.
Police identified the suspects as 27-year-old Paul Moegel III and 31-year-old Christopher Talbott, who now face a combined total of more than 240 charges—144 for Moegel and 97 for Talbott. Investigators believe the pair carried out dozens of thefts and burglaries across the area since June 2024, specifically targeting sheds and vehicles.
A police video showed a variety of recovered stolen items, including nail guns, lawnmowers, and yard trimmers, which officials say were taken from homes and businesses throughout the community.
Both men are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on November 26. Police continue to investigate whether additional thefts may be connected to the case.
