Patrick Waite, 77, Charged After Triple Fatal Shooting in Indiana

One critically injured in Gibson County home shooting

HAUBSTADT, Ind. (WISH) — A tragic shooting in Gibson County on Thursday night has left three people dead and another critically injured, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a residence in the 12000 block of South Scottsdale Drive at approximately 8:31 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth victim was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

At the scene, a witness directed deputies to the last known location of the suspect, 77-year-old Patrick John Waite. Waite was arrested without incident and is currently held without bond on a murder charge.

No further details about the victims or motive have been released. The investigation remains active.
