The Henry County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals Tuesday following the execution of a search warrant at a home on Pine Street.
Authorities say 61-year-old Patrick Kevin Baker, 38-year-old April Lynn Kump and 50-year-old Tommy Lee Bowers Jr. were taken into custody after investigators searched a residence at 351 Pine Street in Henry County.
During the search, deputies reported finding multiple firearms and suspected narcotics, including methamphetamine, fentanyl and marijuana. Investigators also discovered several puppies confined inside a small crate in what officials described as unsanitary conditions.
Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis said the crate contained feces and the puppies had fleas. The animals appeared lethargic and were located in an area filled with trash, clutter and urine.
The puppies were removed by Henry County Animal Services. Officials said additional charges related to inadequate care of animals and animals running at large are being pursued.
Baker was released on a $2,500 bond and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Kump was released on a $1,000 bond and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Bowers Jr. remains held without bond. He faces charges including possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional charges could follow.
