RUSK COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) — A 50-year-old Holcombe man, Patrick Buswell, is facing over 20 criminal charges after leading deputies on a 25-mile motorcycle pursuit and fleeing on foot before being taken into custody Sunday night.
According to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to stop a black motorcycle around 10:30 p.m. near the Rusk and Chippewa County line. When the rider refused to stop, officers engaged in a high-speed pursuit crossing between the two counties.
Once the chase ended, Buswell fled on foot but was quickly subdued by deputies using a Taser.
A subsequent search uncovered methamphetamine, cocaine, THC, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. Buswell, a convicted felon, now faces charges including:
Possession with intent to deliver meth (>50g)
Possession with intent to deliver cocaine (>1-5g)
Possession with intent to deliver THC (>200-1000g)
Possession of narcotic drugs
Possession of meth paraphernalia
Possession of a firearm by a felon
Fleeing law enforcement
2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety
Multiple counts of felony and misdemeanor bail jumping
Disorderly conduct
Operating while revoked (alcohol-related)
All charges include “second or subsequent offense” designations and many involve the use of a dangerous weapon.
Court records show Buswell has a history of drug-related arrests, including a previous bust in March 2025, where he was found with drugs, cash, and a fake pistol during a traffic stop. He was also cited then for operating while under the influence for the sixth time.
Buswell is scheduled to appear in court on the new charges July 15 at 11:00 a.m.
