The Patnagarh police have arrested two individuals, Buddhadev Sahu from Bilaisathi village and Sushil Rao from Salepali village, in connection with a job scam that defrauded three victims of approximately Rs2.10 lakh. The arrests were made after the police initiated an investigation into a series of similar incidents that had become increasingly frequent in the area.

According to the police, the accused posed as Personal Assistants (PA) and Officers on Special Duty (OSD) to the Deputy Chief Minister (Dy CM). They managed to deceive the victims by promising them jobs on an outsourcing basis. After convincing the victims that they had connections to the Dy CM’s office, the accused extracted money from them, amounting to Rs2.10 lakh in total.

Following their detention and interrogation, both accused were formally arrested and forwarded to court by the Patnagarh police. The police are continuing their probe to determine if more victims were targeted in this scam.
