Patna police arrested seven criminals and recovered stolen items, including weapons and gold, in the Fatuha police station area on Friday. The recovered items included two locally made pistols, four bullets, two motorcycles, and valuable gold and silver jewellery.

The incident took place on May 16 in Gauraiya, under Fatuha police jurisdiction, when six to seven criminals broke into Rajkumar’s residence in Saidpur by forcibly entering through the grill late at night. They held the victim at gunpoint and stole Rs 5 lakh in cash along with several valuable items, including a gold idol of Hanuman and silver objects.

Patna Rural Superintendent of Police Vikram Sihag said that after receiving the complaint, the police promptly acted. The forensic science team and escort squads collected vital evidence from the crime scene. “Considering the gravity of the case, we formed a special team that examined CCTV footage and identified suspicious individuals in the area. Based on intelligence and investigation, seven accused were arrested,” he said.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, SP Sihag confirmed the recovery of stolen cash, weapons, and two motorcycles used during the crime.

Among the accused is a jeweller who intended to melt down the stolen gold and silver to dispose of it. Some of the accused have prior criminal records and have been involved in similar offenses before, the SP added.

“The investigation will continue to examine the suspects’ statements and their possible involvement in other local crimes,” he said.

The arrested individuals are gold trader Manish Raj from Sammaspur, Abhishek Kumar from Gauraiya Sthan, Rohit Kumar alias Chedi from Govindpur Kali Sthan, Golu Mahto from Saidpur, Rocky Pandey from Bakipur Gorakh, and Dhruv Kumar from Sammaspur.
