In a significant crackdown on the ongoing competitive exam paper leak racket, Patna police arrested Ajay Kumar Sinha and Uday Jha on Sunday for allegedly leaking question papers for TRE, TET, BPSC engineering, and ANM exams.
The duo had been staying at a hotel in the Jakkanpur police station area of Patna for the past ten days. Police investigations revealed that the accused were charging aspirants hefty sums — Rs 12-15 lakh for TRE, Rs 1-2 lakh for TET, Rs 50-60 lakh for BPSC engineering, and Rs 4-6 lakh for ANM exams.
During the raid, authorities recovered original documents of 23 students, along with several blank and signed bank cheques. City SP (East) Parichay Kumar stated, “Acting on a tip-off, we raided the hotel and arrested Ajay Kumar Sinha. He was found in possession of documents belonging to 23 students, which are currently being verified.”
Interrogation revealed the involvement of a paper setter, Uday Jha, who was subsequently tracked down and arrested in Samastipur. Jha had checked out of the Patna hotel a few days earlier. Police are continuing their probe to uncover the full network behind the racket.
