Patna Police Arrest 4 in Major Opium Trafficking Bust

Over 140 kg Narcotics Seized, Land and Cash Recovered

Patna Police arrested four drug traffickers from the Gopalpur police station area on Friday and seized a large quantity of narcotics along with other incriminating materials.

The seized items included:

Over 40 kg of opium

2 kg of poppy husk

88 kg of doda powder

14 bank passbooks

Rs 6.62 lakh in cash

Land documents worth Rs 1.50 crore

Two motorcycles and one auto

Six cellphones

The arrested individuals were identified as Mukesh Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Shravan Kumar, and Jayram Bharti.

According to Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, investigations revealed that the accused were involved in supplying opium from Gaya to Punjab. They reportedly collected the narcotics in Gaya and transported it to Punjab using trucks and other vehicles.

Police are continuing their investigation to trace additional links and apprehend others involved in the trafficking network.
