Kudakwashe Singizi, 42, affiliated with Christ Embassy, was arrested in Harare after allegedly defrauding his workmate, Mukanhairi Ropafadzo, of US$7,200 in a failed vehicle import transaction.
Ropafadzo reportedly entrusted the funds to Singizi to facilitate the purchase and import of a Honda Vezel, believing Singizi acted as an agent for BE Forward. The pastor allegedly promised to deliver the vehicle within three months but failed to do so and avoided repayment.
Singizi appeared before a Harare magistrate on fraud charges, with investigations confirming that neither the vehicle nor the money was recovered.
In a related incident, Tichaona Mupo Mhlakaza was arrested after allegedly defrauding car dealer Peter Sine of US$52,792 by impersonating a Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) official to clear imported trucks. Court documents revealed fake proof of payment and a staged handover that prompted police action and Mhlakaza’s arrest.
