n a swift breakthrough, Sola High Court Police cracked a high-profile Patola saree theft case within hours, arresting the accused and recovering the stolen items valued at Rs1.2 lakh.
The incident occurred on March 23 during the grand opening of Dhyan Creation, a boutique situated behind Vraj Valencia Mahindra Showroom on Science City Road, Sola. The event drew in family, guests, and customers — providing the perfect cover for theft.
During the celebration, Parul Gandhi (49), a housewife from Ghatlodia, allegedly took advantage of the busy atmosphere to discreetly steal two high-value Patola sarees.
Acting on a tip-off and reviewing surveillance footage, the Sola High Court Police surveillance squad swiftly identified Gandhi in the act of lifting the sarees from a store counter.
A raid led to the recovery of:
A Patan Patola saree worth Rs90,000
A Rajkot Patola saree worth Rs30,000
A two-wheeler valued at Rs30,000
The accused was booked under BNS Sections 303(2) (theft of high-value property) and 329(3) (deception under concealment).
Police commend the rapid response and vigilance of the surveillance team in ensuring justice was served promptly.
