In a major breakthrough, Sangareddy Police arrested three individuals from Maharashtra for their role in the theft of palladium on carbon (PdC) valued at Rs1.52 crore, a rare chemical widely used in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
In a joint operation by the CCS Police and IDA Bollaram Police, the following accused were arrested:
Amole Jagade
Ravindra Bhagavan
Ganesh Mahadev Rathod
All three hail from Maharashtra and are believed to be part of an organized gang involved in high-value chemical thefts.
However, the mastermind, Allam Sambasivudu, along with Akshay Chouhan and Lala Patel, remains absconding. Police confirmed the trio played a major role in planning and executing thefts from multiple pharmaceutical units.
Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj revealed that Sambasivudu and his associates had already been arrested earlier in February in a case where Rs4.5 crore worth of PdC was seized.
Using insider knowledge from his past employment in Pune-based pharma firms, Sambasivudu is suspected of orchestrating thefts across eight companies nationwide, with four targeted units located in Sangareddy district alone over the past three years.
The police have launched a manhunt to locate the remaining suspects and uncover the full extent of the trafficking network.
