Three men, including a domestic worker and his accomplices, have been arrested by Jaipur police in connection with a major theft involving Rs40 lakh in stolen gold, silver, and cash. The arrests were made in Delhi, where the suspects were attempting to flee to Nepal.

The primary accused, Pankaj Thapa (20), was employed as a domestic worker at the home of Kailash Goyal in Janata Colony, Jaipur. Thapa, a native of Kaski, Nepal, had been working for the Goyal family since December 2024, earning Rs12,000 per month.

On January 15, the Goyal family left home for a religious event, leaving Thapa behind. When they returned late that night, they discovered that multiple floor locks and cupboards had been broken into. A total of Rs40 lakh in valuables, including gold and silver jewelry and cash, had been looted.

The complaint, filed by Goyal on January 16, named Pankaj Thapa as the prime suspect. Investigators quickly discovered that he had collaborated with others, including Jhapat Bahadur, Sher Bahadur, Krishna Bahadur, Rajesh Sop, and Pawan Sahi, all believed to be from Nepal.

CI Dharm Singh of Adarsh Nagar led the investigation. CCTV footage and interviews with Nepalese residents in the area helped track the gang. Authorities learned that the accused had traveled on foot to Transport Nagar, from where they took a bus to Delhi.

A special police team was dispatched to Delhi, where Jhapat Bahadur, Krishna Bahadur, and Rajesh Sop were arrested. The three were brought back to Jaipur for further questioning. Search operations at the Nepal border and in Uttarakhand are ongoing to nab the remaining suspects.

Police successfully recovered the stolen items, including gold, silver jewelry, and cash, valued at Rs40 lakh. Investigations are ongoing to arrest the remaining culprits and trace the full extent of the theft network.
