Ramakrishna Nagar police have apprehended Pankaj Sahni, a notorious criminal, from a rented residence in Sri Krishna Colony, West Nayachak, Patna, on Monday. The arrest followed a tip-off, prompting a raid led by SDPO II (Sadar) Ranjan Kumar.
During the operation, police seized a pistol, two magazines, a country-made firearm, old currency notes, a fighter knife, a weighing scale, a batkhara used for weighing ganja, and three mobile phones. The phones contained crucial evidence, including photos of three accomplices.
City SP (East) Parichay Kumar revealed that Sahni was planning targeted criminal activities against several businessmen in Patna’s urban areas. Sahni has over 20 registered cases across multiple police jurisdictions, including charges of robbery, theft, violations of the Arms Act and NDPS Act, and attempted murder. Evidence from his phones also linked him to the ganja trade.
In a related operation, police arrested three women—Manorama Devi, Sita Devi, and Rani Devi—involved in a drug trafficking racket near the Digha Canal, Rupaspur police station area in Danapur. Authorities recovered 500 grams of ganja during the raid. Manorama Devi has a prior record with three cases under the Excise Act at Rupaspur police station.
Danapur ASP Shivam Dhakad confirmed the bust, highlighting ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
