by Ananya Mehta

The Guwahati Police arrested a prime suspect in the Chatribari businessman murder case from Begusarai, Bihar, on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Pankaj Kumar Yadav. Following his arrest and interrogation, he revealed that the murder was orchestrated by W Yadav, the prime accused who has remained at large since the incident. W Yadav is reportedly hiding in Nepal.

The victim, businessman Avdesh Yadav, was shot dead near his residence in Chatribari last month by bike-borne assailants, who fired three bullets at point-blank range into his chest.

Locals raised concerns about security, questioning how individuals could carry firearms despite multiple check posts and police operations in the city.

Immediately after the incident, police detained three people from Assam, but none were linked to the murder. Based on further investigation and intelligence inputs, authorities traced prime suspects to Bihar, leading to the arrest of Pankaj Kumar Yadav.

The Guwahati Police continue to pursue leads to apprehend W Yadav and unravel the full conspiracy behind this targeted killing.
