In two major theft cases from Uttar Pradesh, six individuals, including a bank employee, have been arrested for crimes involving public property and religious institutions.

A joint operation by the Railway Security Force (RSF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Aligarh led to the arrest of five suspects near the exit gate of Aligarh Junction railway station. The accused were found carrying stolen luggage under a Pilkhan tree.

Recovered items include gold and silver jewellery valued at over Rs10 lakh, such as:

Gold: Two rings, two bangles, one tops, one locket, two pairs of earrings, one bracelet, one chain

Silver: Three pairs of anklets, two additional pairs of anklets

The arrested individuals were identified as:

Pankaj, Ramghat Road, Mahuakheda, Aligarh

Gauri, Purani Puliya, Nagla Man Singh, District Aligarh

Nawab, Devi Nagla, Gali Mahuakheda, Aligarh

Bhagwati Prasad, Village Vinamai, Atrauli, Aligarh

Yadram, Lekhraj Nagar, Mahuakheda, Aligarh

They have been charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and several pending passenger luggage theft cases were resolved with their arrest.

In a separate case, Abhinav Saxena, a bank employee working in the loan department at Canara Bank, was arrested by Mathura Police for stealing Rs9.38 lakh from the Banke Bihari temple.

As part of the routine monthly count of temple donations, discrepancies were found. The stolen amount was traced to the Dampier Nagar branch of Canara Bank, where Saxena worked.

An FIR was filed following a complaint by the temple administration, and Saxena is currently in police custody.
