A 23-year-old man, Kalu, was brutally murdered in Panipat after a Holi-related dispute. Police revealed that the accused later placed him on a railway track to make his death appear accidental.
The accused have been identified as:
Sanju – mastermind of the murder
Rahul – accomplice
Vishal – accomplice
According to investigators, the murder was triggered when Kalu allegedly applied Holi colour to Sanju’s female friend. An earlier personal grievance involving a damaged motorcycle further fueled Sanju’s anger.
Police said the accused lured Kalu out of his home under the pretext of a drinking session. They forced him to consume alcohol until he lost control. Sanju then attacked Kalu twice on the neck with a screwdriver, but when he did not die, the men held him and placed him on a railway track, where he was run over by a speeding train.
The case was solved after the GRP examined mobile phone location data and technical evidence, confirming the accused’s presence near the crime scene. During sustained questioning, all three confessed to the murder.
Police confirmed that the three men have been arrested and further investigation is ongoing.
