ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — The owner of an Upstate boutique has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged scam reported in Fairfield County.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office announced that Pamela Brooke Schronce, owner of Thomas and Turner Boutique in Belton, was taken into custody after an arrest warrant was issued on New Year’s Eve. The warrant stems from allegations that Schronce obtained goods under false pretenses.
Authorities say the investigation began on Dec. 26 after a Fairfield County resident reported a suspected scam. Deputies collected evidence and presented the findings to a magistrate, who approved the arrest warrant.
Following the warrant’s issuance, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office to locate Schronce. She was arrested shortly afterward and is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.
According to investigators, the case involves allegations from multiple individuals, with similar claims also circulating on social media. Law enforcement officials are encouraging anyone who believes they may have been affected to report their information to local authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing as Schronce awaits extradition to Fairfield County, where formal proceedings will continue.
