In a significant drug bust, Palnadu Prohibition and Excise officials arrested Udayanath Mallick, a suspected ganja peddler, and seized 400 ganja-laced chocolates and 170 grams of dry ganja from his possession. The accused was reportedly selling the ganja chocolates under the guise of “Ayurvedic medicine”, as claimed by the Excise officials.
On receiving a tip-off about the illegal sale of ganja chocolates at a pan shop in ET Centre, Kotappakonda, the Excise team, led by District Prohibition and Excise Officer (DPEO) K. Manikanta and Assistant Excise Superintendent K. Ravindra, along with the task force team, raided the shop. They successfully seized the ganja-laced chocolates and other contraband items from the premises.
Excise Deputy Commissioner K. Srinivasulu confirmed the raid and the arrest of the accused, highlighting the ongoing efforts of the Prohibition and Excise Department to curb the illegal distribution of narcotics in the region.
