PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — Christopher T. Withers, a middle school teacher at Watson B. Duncan Middle School in Palm Beach Gardens, was arrested on Monday following an investigation into lewd and lascivious behavior with a minor.
The investigation into Withers, 32, began on March 25 after a complaint was filed. The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department (PBGPD) worked alongside the Palm Beach County School District Police Department to gather evidence. Following a thorough investigation, Withers was arrested on March 31 and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
In response to the arrest, Watson B. Duncan Middle School released a statement assuring families and staff that Withers would not be returning to the school. The district emphasized that the situation was believed to be an isolated incident.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities are continuing to gather more details.
