Pakke Kessang Police in Arunachal Pradesh swiftly arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of 60-year-old Nabam Rungku, a resident of Keko village. The victim, allegedly shot dead in Dissing Forest on April 19, was reported missing until an FIR was filed by his father-in-law, Takar Tana, on April 29 at 4:00 pm.
Upon receiving the complaint, Superintendent of Police, Pakke Kessang, directed immediate action. Officer-in-Charge SI Patto Gami registered the case under Pakke Kessang PS Case No. 04/2025, under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
A special investigative team was formed, including Inspector Thony Tayeng, SI Patto Gami, SI Taluk Taku, and HC Vikash Gyadi, under the supervision of SP Pakke Kessang. By 4:00 am on April 30, the police had detained the three suspects: Pade Nabam (38), Tamar Tana (26), and Takar Techi (32).
Further investigation revealed that the victim had already been buried prior to the filing of the FIR. Following this, an exhumation order was obtained from the Deputy Commissioner of Pakke Kessang, and the body was exhumed under the presence of Executive Magistrate-cum-CO Durin Dai. A post-mortem was conducted at the District Hospital, where forensic experts discovered a fired bullet pellet in the deceased’s body, which was seized as evidence.
In addition, two suspected SBBL firearms believed to have been used in the crime were also recovered. The suspects later confessed to the murder after being interrogated.
The investigation was carried out in close coordination with the District Administration, DMO, and Principal PTC, ensuring timely progress. The case remains under investigation as further details are being examined.
