A 31-year-old Owensboro man, employed as a financial advisor, has been arrested following a fraud investigation in Tell City, Indiana. Daniel Deno was taken into custody on Tuesday, facing felony charges of fraud and theft.
According to the Tell City Police Department (TCPD), detectives received a tip on Monday that Deno was managing the investments of a 73-year-old Tell City resident. Investigators uncovered that Deno had recently misrepresented the details of the victim’s investments, persuading the client to make a cash payment that was intended for his personal benefit.
Officers took to social media, urging local residents to stay alert and report any suspicious financial activity. They also credited the investigation’s success to the client’s awareness and the cooperation of a local financial institution.
Deno is currently facing legal action for his role in the fraudulent scheme.
