BI Cracks Down on Illegal Immigration in the Philippines

Pangasinan, PH – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) successfully arrested Jiang Fangyuan, a 47-year-old Chinese national, for overstaying in Barangay Batiarao, Anda, Pangasinan.

The operation, conducted by BI intelligence officers in coordination with local law enforcement, aligns with the government’s strict enforcement of immigration laws.

Jiang lacked valid immigration documents and a passport.
He was apprehended under Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act.
BI Commissioner Atty. Joel Anthony Viado reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to cracking down on illegal immigration.
Jiang is detained at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, awaiting deportation.
This arrest highlights the Philippine government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen border control and national security.
