An Oswego woman, 28-year-old Alexia Telles, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder, according to the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office. Telles was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of her girlfriend, Annissa Ellen-Williams, in February 2023.

Authorities reported that an argument occurred between Telles and Ellen-Williams while they were driving, during which Telles allegedly shot Ellen-Williams in the head. They arrived at a residence on Presidential Boulevard, where emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures. Unfortunately, Ellen-Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation by Oswego Police and Illinois State Police, officials concluded that Telles committed the murder and tried to stage it as a suicide. The evidence included both physical and digital materials related to the case.

In addition to her prison term, Telles will be required to serve three years of supervised release after completing her sentence. She has been held at the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville since her initial arrest.
