
ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with the April 11 shooting that left 19-year-old Nekko Herrera dead and another person seriously injured on Kellchris Lane in St. Cloud.
Responding to gunfire involving a vehicle, deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and found two victims with gunshot wounds. Herrera succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide. The second victim was airlifted to a hospital and remains unidentified.
Following a month-long investigation, detectives identified Orvill Osorio-Ortiz as the primary suspect and issued a warrant for first-degree premeditated murder on May 13. With help from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Osorio-Ortiz was located and taken into custody without incident.
On May 15, his girlfriend, Jessica Rivera, was arrested at her job at Whispering Oak Elementary School in Winter Garden. She faces charges of tampering with evidence and reportedly continued to interfere with the investigation during her arrest. Rivera was booked into the Orange County Jail.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has stated the investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as it develops.
