Police have busted an online gaming scam and arrested seven individuals accused of luring victims with promises of cash prizes through messaging groups and websites.

According to officials, the accused used groups on WhatsApp and various online platforms to promote fraudulent gaming activities. Participants were allegedly promised lucrative rewards and prize money to encourage them to join the scheme.

During the operation, law enforcement teams conducted raids at two residential flats suspected to be used as operational hubs for the scam. The raids resulted in the detention of two minors who were present at the locations.

Authorities seized multiple electronic devices believed to have been used in the operation. The recovered items include laptops, smartphones, and mobile internet data devices that investigators say may contain crucial evidence related to the fraudulent activities.

The suspects have been identified as Sahil Meel, Rahul Jangid, Sandeep, Manish Naga, Vikas Godara, Asif Ali, and Kabir.

Police allege that the group orchestrated the scam by enticing unsuspecting users to participate in fake gaming platforms where players were asked to deposit money with the promise of winning cash prizes. Victims reportedly lost money when the promised rewards never materialised.

Investigators are currently examining the seized devices to uncover the full scale of the operation and identify additional victims linked to the online gaming fraud.
