ALBANY, N.Y. — Omar Wynn, 32, of Schenectady, has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for distributing a controlled substance, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III and DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank A. Tarentino III.

Wynn admitted to selling 1,500 fentanyl pills stamped “M30” to mimic oxycodone, along with 8.6 grams of cocaine. At the time of the offenses, Wynn was on state probation for two prior felony cocaine convictions.

In addition to the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino ordered Wynn to serve four years of supervised release and forfeit $3,000 — the estimated profit from the drug sales.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with assistance from the Schenectady Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan S. Reiner.
