ACCRA, Ghana – The Ghana Police Service has arrested two men in connection with the brutal murder of Lebanese national Omar Mikati, 58, who was found dead at his East Legon residence on Friday, June 20, 2025.

According to police, Mr. Mikati was discovered in a pool of blood inside his home. Crime scene investigators gathered forensic evidence, noting that while two iPhones and a GCB ATM card were left behind, his Samsung phone was missing—presumed stolen during the attack.

The ATM card bore the name Paul Twumasi Ankrah, who was later apprehended by police in Samsam Medie. During questioning, Ankrah implicated an accomplice, Asiedu Henning, also known as Nana Kofi Anum.

Henning was subsequently arrested in Kutunse on July 2 and led police to a location where a knife allegedly used in the murder was recovered.

Both men were arraigned at the Adabraka District Court 1, where they were remanded into custody. They are expected to reappear in court on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to establish full motive and possible connections.
