LAGOS, Nigeria — The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has sentenced Olukeye Adedayo to a total of 76 years in prison for his involvement in internet crimes including child pornography, sextortion, and fraudulent impersonation.
Justice Alexander Owoeye delivered the verdict on Thursday, June 19, 2025, convicting Adedayo on all 18 charges brought against him by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The charges, filed in 2024, stemmed from the exploitation of a 14-year-old Canadian boy and financial fraud amounting to ₦721,500.
Adedayo, operating under aliases such as hrm87, charlotte708, and harlilott_716, was found to have created an Instagram group titled “Expose Janjua Robin Nudes”, used to distribute explicit images of the teenage victim, Robin Janjua.
Despite pleading not guilty, the EFCC prosecution team, led by Bilikisu Buhari, presented strong digital and documentary evidence. Key witnesses included Wahid Hamidi of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Saidu Yakubu, an EFCC operative.
Sentencing Breakdown:
Counts 1–4: 2 years each for procurement and distribution of child pornography and cyberstalking
Counts 5–14: 4 years each for money laundering, with no option of a fine
Counts 15–18: 7 years each for obtaining property under false pretenses, with no option of a fine
All sentences will run consecutively, totaling 76 years in prison.
