Okaloosa Man Arrested for Meth Trafficking During Traffic Stop

Paul Treaster caught with 100g of meth after traffic stop

by Sophia Bennett

A routine traffic stop in Crestview turned into a major drug bust when deputies found methamphetamine in a vehicle.

Paul Treaster, 49, was pulled over by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office after running a stop sign. During the stop, Deputy Zant noticed Treaster trying to hide something under his foot.

K-9 Deputy Caden Downing and K-9 Vojak were called to the scene. K-9 Vojak alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading deputies to discover approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine hidden in the truck.

Treaster told authorities that he was unaware of the drugs and suggested that a friend, who had been using the vehicle, was likely responsible.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, a serious felony in Florida, pending further legal proceedings.
