HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — An Ohio man was arrested in Huntington on Friday during a drug investigation, according to police.

Jeffery Allen Jones, 45, of Columbus, Ohio, was apprehended when authorities executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of 25th Street. The Huntington Police Department released a statement confirming the arrest.

During the search, officers discovered a large quantity of crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with a handgun equipped with a high-capacity magazine. A juvenile present at the scene was later released to a family member, the statement noted.

Huntington Police Chief Phil Watkins emphasized the importance of the investigation: “This isn’t just about making arrests—it’s about making Huntington safer,” Watkins said. “Every drug seizure prevents overdoses, theft, and violence before they occur.”

Jones is facing two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

He remains in custody with a bond set at $90,000.
