STAMFORD, Conn. — A veteran Stamford police officer, Gregory Zach, has been arrested on multiple charges related to a domestic incident that occurred on Wednesday.
According to the Stamford Police Department, Officer Zach is facing several charges, including threatening, assault, disorderly conduct, and strangulation.
Zach has been with the department since July 2005. Following his arrest, he was placed on administrative leave and released on $10,000 bond. He appeared in court on Thursday.
In a statement, Police Chief Timothy Shaw emphasized the department’s position:
“The Stamford Police Department takes allegations of domestic violence very seriously and we will continue to work with and support the victim in this matter.”
