Octavious Nathaniel Coleman, 38, of Saltillo, was arrested Feb. 10 after a traffic stop in Tupelo and charged with felony marijuana trafficking and felony possession of hydrocodone, authorities said.
The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit reported that agents stopped a 2022 Ford Bronco on North Gloster Street for an equipment violation and identified Coleman as the driver. A search of the vehicle yielded approximately one pound of suspected marijuana and several dosage units of suspected hydrocodone.
Following the stop, agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Mandi Drive in Saltillo, seizing over 15 pounds of suspected marijuana, additional hydrocodone, two firearms, and $76,970 in cash.
Coleman was charged with felony trafficking of marijuana and felony possession of hydrocodone. Bond was denied by Judge Marilyn Reed because Coleman was already out on a previous felony bond. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
