MANCHESTER, CT (WFSB) — A stolen motor vehicle investigation led to the arrest of Ocarterria Johnson, 25, of Manchester, after police discovered suspected drug activity.
Johnson was stopped outside his home while driving a vehicle reported stolen out of New York. During the stop, officers found a substantial quantity of marijuana and items consistent with the sale and distribution of controlled substances.
Police obtained a search warrant for Johnson’s home, which resulted in the seizure of:

Three firearms, including one illegal assault weapon and two with altered or obliterated serial numbers
Johnson faces multiple charges, including:
Theft of a motor vehicle
Possession of a motor vehicle with a changed identification number
Illegal alteration of a motor vehicle identification number
Possession of marijuana
Sale of a controlled substance
Operating a drug factory
Altering or removing firearm identification marks
Illegal possession of an assault weapon and large-capacity magazines
First-degree criminal mischief and interfering with an officer
His bond was set at $750,000. Authorities say the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to crack down on stolen vehicles and drug-related activity in the area.
