Nuh Police Arrest 15 Cyber Fraudsters Using Fake SIMs & Jobs

Gang duped victims with fake jobs and bogus sales ads

Fifteen cyber fraudsters were arrested by Nuh police for buying SIM cards using forged documents and running fake social media accounts to carry out fraud. The accused were apprehended from various locations in Nuh following a tip-off and tracking of suspicious phone numbers, said Cybercrime Inspector Vimal Rai.

According to police, the accused posted fake advertisements on social media platforms offering clothes, tyres, cows, and buffaloes at cheap rates. Victims were tricked into paying advance money, which was never refunded. The gang also promised fake jobs, including packing Natraj pencils from home, to lure victims.

Police seized 13 mobile phones and 24 SIM cards sourced fraudulently from Assam and Bihar. The gang targeted victims primarily from Assam, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

Twelve FIRs have been registered under sections 318(4) (cheating and inducing delivery of property) and 319 (cheating by personation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). All accused have been sent to judicial custody.

The arrested include Sauyab (Badoji village), Waris (Alawalpur), Naseem (Bichhor), Haseen Khan (Punhana), Luqman (Ghida), Aleem (Badha), Hakam (Bajlaka), Faisar Ali and Mustakim (Salahedi), Sohail Khan and Saleem (Raiwasan), Sahil (Tundlaka), Sahyar (Maroda), Sameem (Navali), and Aashiq (Lalpur).
