Norwich Man Lance Madsen Faces Multiple Drug Charges After Police Chase

Madsen arrested for narcotics possession and fleeing police in Norwich

A Norwich man, Lance A. Madsen, was arrested on several drug-related charges after a brief police chase on Wednesday. Norwich Police reported that Madsen failed to comply with a traffic stop and attempted to evade officers before his vehicle was boxed in on County Road 36 in the Town of Norwich.

Following his arrest, authorities discovered Madsen was in possession of methamphetamine, narcotics intended for sale, and a weapon. Madsen is also an active New York State parolee.

He faces multiple charges, including:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree (Methamphetamine)

Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug with Intent to Sell

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia

Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree

Resisting Arrest

Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Non-Original Container

Criminal Mischief for reckless property damage over $250

Madsen was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility, where he will await further court proceedings.
