Livingston Parish, La. (WAFB) – The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of three men accused of preying on children through social media platforms.
According to Sheriff Jason Ard, deputies initiated a series of investigations in December 2024, targeting individuals on various social media platforms. During these operations, arrest warrants were obtained for the three suspects involved.
Norman “Buddy” Cutrer, Randy Gilleo, and Nathaniel Walsh were arrested on serious charges following these investigations.
The case received support from several agencies, including the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations, the Attorney General’s Office, Louisiana Homeland Security Investigations, and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. These agencies worked alongside the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Sheriff Ard emphasized the ongoing work of the ICAC Task Force in identifying those who exploit children through online platforms, stating, “Detectives are constantly identifying individuals preying on innocent children through social media and online gaming environments.”
Here’s a breakdown of the arrests:
Norman “Buddy” Cutrer, 35, of Ponchatoula, was arrested on December 18, 2024, facing charges of three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, three counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and possession of methamphetamine.
Randy Gilleo, 28, of Prairieville, was arrested on December 14, 2024, charged with two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and two counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
Nathaniel Walsh, 34, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, was arrested on January 15, 2025, facing two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, studies show that only 7% of parents are aware their children are receiving inappropriate content online from adults. Sheriff Ard urges parents to remain vigilant and involved in their children’s online activities.
