SONOMA, Calif. — Authorities have arrested a third suspect in a violent home invasion that rattled a Sonoma neighborhood last month. On October 1, 2025, 52-year-old Norma Matamoros of Hidden Valley Lake was taken into custody following an investigation linking her to the early morning robbery on September 12 on Wood Valley Road.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Unit uncovered evidence connecting Matamoros, who previously worked as a house cleaner for the victims, to the crime. Matamoros is also the stepmother of 20-year-old Hugo Matamoros-Acosta, who had been arrested earlier and remains in custody for his alleged involvement.
Norma Matamoros faces several felony charges including elder abuse, vehicle theft, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and kidnapping. She is currently held in Sonoma County Jail on a $1,000,000 bail.
The violent home invasion occurred around 4:14 a.m. on September 12 when masked and armed suspects forced entry into the residence. They restrained three victims, two of whom were elderly, and demanded valuables. During the attack, one victim was struck on the head with a blunt object and sustained injuries. The suspects fled with stolen property.
Following the incident, deputies tracked down Matamoros-Acosta and 22-year-old Sincere Rush Tanner of Santa Rosa at a casino in Middletown. Police recovered a firearm believed to have been used during the robbery. Both men remain in custody at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility, each held on bail exceeding $1 million.
