MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — A man arrested during a traffic stop for drug trafficking has been sentenced to over 20 years in prison, authorities say.

Norberto Montalban-Nava was pulled over by police, who discovered a quantity of methamphetamine mixed with fentanyl inside his vehicle. Following the discovery, Montalban-Nava was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

Officials say Montalban-Nava has a prior criminal record that includes burglary and previous drug-related offenses.

On May 29, a Morgan County Circuit Judge sentenced the repeat offender to 20 years and one day for trafficking dangerous drugs, marking another chapter in a long history of criminal activity.
