A Tulsa man charged with murder and out on bond has been arrested again, this time accused of assaulting his girlfriend.
Noe Cruz, who has been in the spotlight after the judge in his murder case was removed for a private meeting with him, was taken into custody Monday night by the Tulsa Police fugitive warrant squad. He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, according to the arrest report.
The report states Cruz took the victim’s phone, and when she tried to retrieve it, he pushed her to the ground and threatened her. Despite her efforts to hold onto her phone, Cruz grabbed her arm, pushed her down again, and threw the phone, breaking it.
Cruz was initially charged with murder in 2023 following a fatal shooting near 21st and Garnett. Although prosecutors objected, Judge Sharon Holmes lowered his bond from $1 million to $100,000. Conditions imposed included house arrest, a curfew, random drug testing, and no firearm possession. However, house arrest and curfew were later lifted, and Cruz was allowed to leave the state for work.
Earlier this year, Cruz requested a bench trial and privately met with Judge Holmes in her chambers, a meeting later deemed a violation of judicial conduct. As a result, Judge Holmes was removed from the case and Cruz was assigned a new judge. Cruz has since asked to reinstate a jury trial.
Tulsa County prosecutors filed a motion on Tuesday urging the new judge to revoke Cruz’s bond, citing his threatening behavior and arguing he poses a danger to public safety.
Attempts to reach Cruz’s attorney for comment were unsuccessful.
